BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Napoleon Buonaparte's brother, Jerome Napoleon, commits Line and Light Infantry Regiments of France to attack the south gate of the chateau of Hugoumont in the first assaults of the Battle of Waterloo. Soldiers Led by brave officers and follow the regiments' standard bearers carrying the famous Napoleonic Eagles and flags. The French fusiliers, grenadiers, voltigeurs and chasseurs, advance under a hail of musketry! But the large, walled farm is defended by companies of British Guardsmen who withstand everything that Rielle's 2nd Corps can throw at them. The right flank of Duke of Wellington's battle line remains intact throughout the day! Despite fierce fighting, lack of ammunition and severe fires, the English and Scots Guards repel each and every French assault. Napoleon's diversionary attack gradually swallows up more and more reserves of line infantry, which does not allow the emperor to properly support Marshal Ney's massed Infantry and Cavalry charges. Lack of reserves forces the Bonaparte to squander his Elite Guard infantry in desperate final attack on the allies center and in the defense of his right flank against the main Prussian Army. Blucher's men arrive on the battlefield at the end of the day to reinforce the battered Dutch, German and British Army and spells defeat for France!
